Networking Emails
85% of jobs are filled through networking. But most people don't know how to reach out without it feeling awkward or transactional. These templates will help you write emails people actually respond to.
Start with My Career ReportThe principles behind effective networking emails
Be specific — generic messages get ignored. Reference something real about the person.
Make it easy — ask for something small (15 minutes, one question). Don't ask for a job.
Lead with value or connection — why should they care who you are?
Keep it short — 4–6 sentences is enough. Long emails signal poor communication skills.
Follow up once — if no response after 1 week, one polite follow-up is appropriate.
